Solar Cooking Demo at Dobson Ranch Kid’s Camp

Last week I had the pleasure of demonstrating my solar ovens at the Dobson Ranch Spring Break Kid’s Camp.  The camp was held during spring break for local children.  I took two ovens – The All American Sun Oven and the Sport Solar Oven.  I wanted something that would cook very quickly, and that the children would enjoy. So one of the camp leaders, and her camper assistant, helped me fix up several pans of Quick Pizza Crackers.  While the cheese melted and the sauce heated up, I gave a short – very short – talk about solar ovens. Despite the early morning hour, it was a warm day and it quickly became very warm outside.  The kids got to see the ovens, touch the reflector panels, and watch the cheese melt.
